What can I submit to Loose Change?

Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, lyric, visual art, and work in other mediums we are yet to imagine. You can submit anything that can appear in text or photograph in a print publication.

How can I submit my work?

We prefer email submissions to LooseChange@wonderroot.org, but we also gladly take submissions delivered to P.O. Box 89018, ATLANTA, GA 30312 or submitted in person at 982 Memorial Drive, ATLANTA, GA 30316. All submissions must be copies of original work (no manuscripts will be returned). Please include a submission form with all entries.

We have a rough cap of 3,000 words, but we are flexible.

How often does Loose Change get published?

The magazine is published quarterly online and in print once a year.

How do your deadlines work?

Loose change accepts submissions on a rolling basis. Publicized deadlines represent the cut-offs for each quarter, however, if a submission misses one deadline, it is automatically considered for the next issue (unless otherwise specified by Loose Change or the individual submitter).

How are submission evaluated?

Each submission is evaluated impartially and anonymously by a Loose Change genre editor with input from a group of volunteer WonderRoot community members. Each submitter will be personally notified if his/her submission is or is not accepted for publication.

Do I need to be a Wonderroot member in order to volunteer and participate with the production of Loose Change?

No, we welcome anyone who is interested in volunteering to please contact Loose Change at LooseChange@WonderRoot.org in order to learn more about participating with the publication.

Do you award payment to people whose work you publish?

No, we do not at this time. We are part of a nonprofit organization and function on an entirely volunteer basis.
